InJoy: Week 1

InJoy is a book I produced based on the pursuit of Joy. Each week I will post an inspirational quote from this book. In the meantime, sing the pledge!

Bright Boy

A tiny painting exercise in acrylic.

Grey Girl

I did this a few years ago but recently came across this in a sketchbook.

My roommate, Alex, loves squirrels. Drawn with yummy Copic markers; the C3 grey is running low which explains the blue tones. I like it.

This image is being used for the online publication InkTank Magazine’s January ‘Waste’ issue. I built the word out of pizza boxes and then used real ‘holiday waste’ to surround the text sculpture. Check out the latest issue: http://inktankmagazine.com/

Holiday Cards

Because I am so poor this year I thought I would make some nice cards. Each card was hand painted with water colours and the paper is dyed with food colouring, then baked in the oven.

Final Peacock

I finally finished the painting at the end of the summer, and now I am finally posting the final picture!

I’ve been wanting to get back into doing pieces off of the computer. This is the first of a series of illustrated words.
